Welcome to Launch Effect Premium v2.27! Launch Effect Premium lets you create and customize an entire website at the click of a few buttons. Version 2.27 includes some important stability fixes and speed improvements, tweaks to the theme’s responsive styling, and large improvements to the way the theme handles the generation of meta data for Facebook sharing, as well as the theme’s ability to play nice with popular SEO plugins. Be sure to check out the Launch Effect > Designer > Global Settings panel for more information. Take a look around to see what’s new and launch something today!

Setting up is easy, but there’s definitely a few steps that have to be done in order for things to work properly. Please follow the steps below and you’ll be up and running in no time.

Setup Instructions

Step 1 — Set Homepage

Go to Settings > Reading.
By default, WordPress shows your most recent Posts (the blog) on the homepage of your site (like the one you’re reading right now). But many WordPress users want to be able to choose a different Page as their homepage.

If you’d like to keep your most recent Posts as your homepage, you don’t have to adjust anything in this step.

If not, where it says, “Front page displays,” choose “A static page,” and select accordingly for your “Front Page”. Be sure to select “Blog” for “Posts Page”. If you’d like the Launch Effect sign-up page to be your homepage, choose “Sign-Up” for “Front Page”. Go to the Pages item in the WordPress sidebar to create new pages, which you can also select to be your “Front Page”.

Step 2 — Create Nav Menu

Go to Appearance > Menus.
This is where your navigation menu is set up and controlled. In the large panel on the right, next to “Menu Name,” write a name for your menu (it can be anything) and press save. The page will refresh and you will see a new panel called “Theme Locations at the top left. Use the Launch Effect Navigation drop down menu to select the name of the menu you just created. Then press save. Now you can use the options at left to choose what pages and posts you’d like to appear in your nav menu.

Step 3 — Select Widgets

Go to Appearance > Widgets.
Launch Effect is compatible with the standard WordPress widgets, as you can see from the ones that appear by default on the left-hand side of your website. Here you can select which widgets to keep and which to remove, as well as customize content specific to each widget.

Step 4 — Start Designing!

Go to Launch Effect > Designer.
Now for the fun part! The Designer is now divided into three sections: Global Styles, Sign-Up Page, and Theme. That submenu is located directly under the giant Designer/Integrations/Stats tabs. The best way to get started here is to just start playing around and gaining an understanding of what selections affect which parts of the design. Good luck!

Setup in Two Easy Steps

Step 1 — Set Your Launch Page as your Homepage

TICKETS
Festival Pass is $20 (gets you into every venue and stage for both days).
Day Pass is $15 (gets you into every venue and stage for one day).
Venue Pass is $5 to $10 (Fulton 55), depending on venue. Good for one venue.

Tickets will be available at the Hashtag event on Thursday as well as the Fulton 55 box office starting now. BRING CASH! They will also be available at most venues throughout the festival…did we mention to BRING CASH!

PARKING
There is free street parking throughout the Cultural Arts District (or Mural Town!! if you prefer) and at city lots around the Fulton Mall. (Parking meter spots are free on weekends and evenings)

FOOD
Eating at FUSE Fest is recommended at Iron Bird Cafe, Tokyo Garden and Fresno Brewing Company. Dusty Buns will be on the Fulton Mall (in front of Fresno Brewing Company) on Saturday night.

DRINKING
On Friday: Fulton 55 and The Lamp Post. On Saturday: Frank’s Place, Fresno Brewing Company and Tokyo Garden. Iron Bird Cafe both nights for excellent coffee and tea.

GET THERE EARLY! The set times aren’t like normal set times that are “suggested”. It STARTS at 7pm on Friday and 4:30 on Saturday (Music Gods willing).

The Central California’s biggest LOCAL music festival. Come out and kick ass with everyone.

Fresno Urban Sound Experience hits the media circuit

Yesterday was a busy one for the festival. We did a mini-media tour, visiting with Zara and Jenny at Channel 47 (at 6:15 in the a.m. no less) and Bill McEwen over at the video and the audio clip for lots of F.U.S.E.-related info.

Then, tune in for a super-special all-local edition of Ozmosis this Sunday and look for an brand-new installement of Flowing with Famous next week.

A Little Help Here

We (FUSE Fest/Creative Fresno) are a non-profit. It means we hate making money (sorta). So we do crazy things like volunteering our time to make FUSE Fest the best local music festival we can. But there isn’t enough of us to cover a festival of this size all on our own. That is where an awesome person like you come in.

If you’d like to volunteer and help us out Friday and/or Saturday night (Sept 7 and 8th), we’d really think you’re the bestest. Normally you’ll work a three hour shift doing stuff like selling tickets, checking wristbands, stroking musicians egos (not really…ok… probably). In turn you’ll get to see the rest of the festival for free and feel all warm and fuzzy about your good deed-ness.

The Lineup For FUSE Fest 2012

Hope you’ll be in town September 6th-8th. It’s going to be a music filled weekend in Fresno. That’s the weekend for the Fresno Urban Sound Experience Festival. It’s the 5th year for FUSE Fest and while it may be a bit bigger, the ideals are the same as year one: Showcase Fresno’s diverse and talented music scene while featuring relevant venues in Downtown Fresno.

So. The big stuff. The reason there is a festival at all. Let’s take a look at the lineup for Fresno Urban Sound Experience #5! Because FUSE Fest has no headliners (it’s how we roll), this is in no particular order:

Lineup is subject to change (such is life). But it’s looking damn special so far and we cant wait to see it all, with you, in Downtown Fresno, Friday and Saturday September 7th and 8th.

VENUES:
Thursday (September 6th): The #Hashtag
This is a free preview night, during Arthop, that will have short sets from artists featured during the main part of the festival and some that aren’t. You will be able to purchase festival passes and FUSE merch.

Friday (September 7th): Iron Bird Lofts, Fulton 55, Fulton 55 “Coffeehouse Stage” (upstairs) and The Lampost.

Saturday (September 8th): CMAC (old Fresno Met building) “Studio Stage”, CMAC “Outdoor Stage”, Fresno Brewing Company, Frank’s Place, Fishbowl Stage (under the Warnors Theatre marquee) and Tokyo Garden.

The dates have been decided, local music festival the Fresno Urban Sound Experience is happening September 6th, 7th and 8th this year!

Like last year, there will be two nights (and some day time stuff too) of music. There is also a new third night, a special preview night, during September ArtHop (that’s Thursday night the 6th).

There will be a nice mix of new and returning venues this year. Frank’s Place at Warnors will return as will Fulton 55 and Tokyo Garden. And there is a nod to year-one as the old Milano’s (now the Fresno Brewing Company) returns, plus a couple new spots you’ll find out more about later.

Gettin’ pumped already. Have a band you MUST see at this year’s festival?

There is a super awesome FREE IBikeFresno bike valet happening both nights. Ride your bike down to the festival and these nice dudes will take care of it for you all night. Check the bike icons on the map for each night’s location.

Also also IMPORTANT: The place to buy and pickup tickets ($20) on Friday is at Club One! You can start picking up tickets at 5:30, doors open on the early venues at 6.

Buying your ticket on Saturday (if you didn’t get the 2-day pass on Friday) means going to Fulton 55 when you get there and the first band is playing at 5:00!

You will get a mini schedule so you can pick where you want to go and when.

Twitter hashtag for the event is #fusefresno. There is a Foursquare thingy up too to check in with.

All venues on Friday have fine dinner options (and drinks) so make sure to plan your dinner at FUSE on Friday. Saturday there will be a good taco truck around plus Tokyo Garden will serve dinner till about 9:30 or so and there will be drinking at Tokyo Garden and Fulton 55.

Parking is free Downtown at night and on weekends (since the Grizzlies season is over) so find a spot and you’re done. Friday the Spiral Garage will be a good option. Saturday just find a random spot in the Culture Arts/Mural District and that’s it. Easy.

There will be band merch and festival merch so bring some cash.

Get there early. Stay late. Bounce around. Sample sample sample. See what Fresno’s music scene is all about. See ya out there!
